THE RUN

Like last year it’s going to be hotter than the sun. Too hot for running. Fortunately most of you have no intention to do so. Considering the heat we are proposing a 5km and a 10km.
We’ve outsourced organising the route to small time outfit Parkrun. They’ve made up a course map, description and even advice on how to get there. Please see link. Feel free to skip the section on safety.
Separate note – Co-founder Chris has fucked up and accidentally invited a runner quite a bit faster than me. Please ignore this person, potential to derail the entire vanity project.

FOOD/DRINK

Saw a preview of the menu the other day. Looks lit, very peaceful. Imagine a Fergus Henderson barbecue with Mother Teresa on puddings. You know the sort of thing.
BYOB but there are also two bars / cafes in the park.

MERCHANDISE

We’ve not done a great job this year, sorry. Even PPK is suffering from the global supply chain issues. Plus we’ve both been on holiday quite a bit and I find it hard to use Photoshop on my phone.
Anyway, there will be transfer tattoos, beer mats, stickers.
For those of you who ordered scarves and hats in December you will be able to collect them. It’s going to be 34 degrees.

MISCELLANEOUS

As mentioned it is going to be Very Hot. Please drink a lot of water. As the world’s first running club that is already a net loss to public health, we really can’t have a death or heart attack on our record.
Train strike. We stand in full solidarity but it is a bit annoying. Consider when planning journey.
Gazebo. We promised one last year and we failed to deliver. Not this time. If anybody has one and could bring it please do so and let us know ahead of time. If not we will go to Argos.
Theme. Remember this event is about achieving peace. Bring a smile, wear a daisy chain, tell a runner you love them? Cheers.

PILLS

We are operating a BYOP and BYOM policy. Non-compulsory.
